Sources: LA Thieves Target Return of Superstar Duo Scrap and Hydra

In what many viewed as the end of LA Thieves' current era near the top of the CDL, the organization appears to be making a serious push to keep the superstar duo of Thomas "Scrap" Ernst and Paco "HyDra" Rusiewiez together on the roster.

Sources indicate the Thieves are doing everything in their power to retain the pair. If they succeed, it would likely spell the end for Tyler "aBeZy" Pharris and Jeremiah "Nium" Harrison, who would be granted their release to explore other opportunities. The duo reportedly no longer wishes to play together after a turbulent year.

Should Scrap and Hydra commit to staying, sources say discussions are already underway about a potential reunion with Dylan "Envoy" Hannon, who won two events alongside the pair back in Black Ops 6. There's also interest from Scrap's side in pairing with Mohammed "Alluka" Bindal. If an agreement with Alluka can't be reached, the fallback plan is a full reunion of the Black Ops 6 roster: Scrap, Hydra, Envoy, and Daniel "Ghosty" Rothe, the same core that won two events together previously.

Paris Gentle Mates remain in the mix as well, and still believe they're in the running for Scrap and Hydra. The Thieves' biggest edge over the French org is roster flexibility, having more freedom to build around the duo than Paris currently does. That said, sources indicate Gentle Mates would be willing to pursue a buyout for a fourth player to play alongside Joseph "JoeDeceives" Romero, if that's what it takes to land the pair.
