It was a breakout year by any measure. Nium won Major III, capped off the season with the Rookie of the Year award, and posted a 0.97 overall K/D in his first taste of CDL competition. Individually, it's about as strong a debut season as a rookie could ask for.
The move lines up with earlier reporting that a Thomas "Scrap" Ernst and Paco "HyDra" Rusiewiez reunion in LA could spell the end for both Nium and Tyler "aBeZy" Pharris, with sources indicating the pairing no longer wished to continue playing together. With Nium now officially on the restricted market, the Thieves' pursuit of the superstar duo appears to be moving forward as expected.
Restricted free agency means LA retains some control over the situation. Still, Nium testing the market after a Rookie of the Year campaign should draw plenty of interest, regardless of how it plays out.
